Hello Friends,

It’s Urban Abbess here to tell you that I am in Love, Love, LOVE with this journal by artist Sabrina Ward Harrison. At first the pre-loved prepared pages were so lovely that I didn’t want to scribble on them. In fact, I was so reluctant to write on this book that I actually copied down ALL of the journal prompts into another notebook instead. At the same time I was experimenting by mixing collage and writing together in one of my own blank books. Like This:

Seeing my own collages surrounded by text helped me be bold enough to mark up Sabrina’s pages.
Here’s a “before” page in Sabrina’s book:

And here’s what one of the pages lookes like after I’ve scribbled in it:

There something about having the page divided up by print, line, and color that gets you thinking on another plane. I’ve broken through on some issues that I’ve been clogged up on for years. Next step: being bold enough to add images and not just words to Sabrina’s pages.
So dear reader, I recommend that you run out right now and buy this from your local book seller (Third Place Books in Ravenna has ‘em) or if you don’t have a local haunt, buy The True and the Questions by linking from here and Monkfish Abbey will get a little kick back from Amazon.
Happy scribbling!

i am going to pick my copy up today…it finally has them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in love with this journal too. I spent quite awhile Sunday journalling in it…my text is not nearly so creative, but I’m just loving the prompts and what I find coming out of me in response to them…
Oooo I think I gotta get me one o’ THOSE!
