. . . i rarely comment on your site i ususally just read the wisdom of the voices . . . HOWEVER, these comments that you have made regarding women’s roles in ministry are extremely insightful . . . if you wouldn’t mind i would also like to add that this ‘grip’ many men hold on the heirarchical systems in both the catholic and protestant traditions . . . may i suggest a book you should love . . . its titled Community 101 by Gilbert Bilezikian he presents what i beleive is a very challenging perspective to the status quo on this issue . . . and his exegtical work is extremely thought provking . . . please consider reading it if you haven’t . . . it will be etremely affirming!!!

    thanks for the recommendation david.

i’ve been thinking how this discussion actually has so much more to do with power than anything else…and how the issue of power passes through all sorts of issues regard inequity and justice ….

i know that i, as a white middle class educate american female, i have a great deal of power… and i’d like to learn how to give away that power…

and in moments when i feel power-less, i’d like to learn how to stand in my own power…

my sisters-of-color keep opening little windows for me so i can see into the power issue…i think they might be protecting me from seeing too much at once! :-)

    pleasant musing with you…
