New Year’s Reflection

New Year’s Reflection
Spend 10-20 minutes on some or all of these questions. A journal, calendar, or photo album of the last year may help trigger your memories.

Looking back over the past year what do I find to……
….be thankful about…to celebrate….

….to mourn….to feel loss around….

Looking over the past year where do I find….
…places of clarity….

….places of confusion or uncertainty….

Looking over the past year what…
….memory do you want to hold on to?

…event do you want to let go of?…

For the Group…If you have one hope or dream that you are hoping to see grow in the coming year, please share it with the group and hang in on the shrine. 

One your own….
What do I want to do with one (or some, or all) of these answers?

Do I want to create a memorial? (A photograph on a window sill, a single word on a piece of colored paper…)

Do I want to write out my thoughts and emotions? (A few pages in notebook, a list of free-association style words, a poem, an essay…)

Do I want to do breathing exercises around a difficult spot? (on the inhale: your name, on the exhale: let go…or…on the inhale: in the hand of God, on the exhale: I rest/lie)

Do I want to create something to remember one of these life experiences/lessons? (a collage, a stack of stones, a series of photos….)

Do I want to pick a symbol for one of these and physically remove it from the place that I live?

Do I want to pick a symbol for one of these and physically bring it into the space that I live?
