Testify: Eden And Jesus Heals Me

I’ve had migraines for a long time now. They’ve been regular for about a year. Once I had them every day for two months. I’ve tried traditional treatments and alternative drugs. Right now I’m taking a couple of kinds of epilepsy drugs, swallowing fistfuls of supplements, and my ankles are dotted with tiny bruises from the acupuncture. Then last week I had a three day migraine.

By Saturday I was very discouraged. I mean, what else was I going to do? Amputate my head? We had an hour’s drive to my parents that day, so Paul suggested that I try to practice some relaxation techniques to loosen up my neck and jaw. We needed the girls to be quiet, so Paul asked them to do centering prayer. “Yeah girls,” I said, “ask Jesus what he’s up to today. Eden immediate had something she wanted to share. Here’s what she said:

I see Jesus walking under a purplish pinkish sky. Then I saw a big long table. Jesus was sitting at the head of the table and I was sitting at the foot of the table. Then I ran up to him and gave him a great big hug. Then we raked up all the leaves together and Jesus gave me my own child-sized rake. Then when summer came, we touched all the leaves and made them green and glued them to the trees.

I was thinking, dang, this girl sure has a direct line to God these days. So I thought I’d give something a try. “Eden, why don’t you ask Jesus what he’s doing with Mommy’s head.” Eden closed her eyes and took a breath. This is what she said:

Jesus is taking stuff out of your head Mommy. You have a lot of junk in your head. Like what, Eden? Junky stuff. Like chewed up bubble gum, and pieces of metal, and old junky cars. Where’s he putting it? Jesus it throwing it in the river, in the fast river, and in the ocean, in the deep deep ocean. How did that stuff get in there? (in singsong) The devil put it in there. The Deh-vil. The Deh-vil. Wow, E. Well, what’s Jesus going to do when it’s all out of there? He’s going to make your head like a dome and he’s going to lock it up so the Devil can’t get in there again. He’s going to take the key and put it high high up in a tree. In a bird’s nest in a tree. Because the Devil is this big…this big….look Mommy! This big, small like a…..like a tiny dice, and he can’t get up in trees. Well, do you think you could touch Mommy and ask Jesus to do that Eden? NO Mommy. I don’t need to do that. He’s already doing it! By this time I was feeling the pain lift off my head, but it was still hurting in a certain place so asked: When’s he going to be done doing this Eden? There are 13 sections in your head Mommy and Jesus is on section 3. He’ll be all done when we get back from Grandma’s.

Well by this time I could feel my headache lifting and going away. The thought entered my head to ask Eden if we should be doing anything else, like singing a song. And she said yes. She then proceeded to write songs for about 10 minutes. The first one was about Jesus pulling stuff out of my head and winning over the devil. (It even had a chorus.) The second one was called “Lord Lord” and was a total authority song.

We couldn’t believe it.

At one point, while I was my parents, my head started hurting in one spot so I asked Eden what Jesus was doing and she nonchalantly replied, “He’s on section 6 of 13 Mommy. Be patient!” By the time I left my Mom and Dad’s my migraine was gone. I haven’t had one since.

What can you say, but praise-the-Lord-and-alleluia!
