I’m So NOT Going to Worry ’bout my Kids No Mo’
ThPM wrapped up around midnight last night and Cate crawled into my bed shortly before 7am. (Yawn.) I told her she had to lay quiet until “7 zero zero.” As she cuddled up next to me I started praying a blessing over her and wondering if we were teaching her enough about the Bible, Jesus, and our story — since she doesn’t go to Christian school or Sunday School and we are kind of hit-or-miss with the whole praying at bedtime and reading Bible stories thing. Right about then Eden came into bed. Without being prompted she told about this waking dream she had just had before she came into my room.
Eden and Jesus’s Castle
I saw a messy castle and Jesus was standing at the drawbridge. He did not care it was a messy castle because he was God’s son. He said, “What do you see?” I said, “I see eyes.” Jesus said, “Yes, those are the eyes of very bad people that are trying to destroy our land. Hurry! Get in the castle.”
Jesus closed the drawbridge and put 200 chains behind the drawbridge and he magically made the door as strong as brick. We went up nine flights of stairs and on each nine flights there was 22 stairs. And then he told me I was the princess of heaven and we sat on a throne, but the throne was not messy, and the room that the throne was in was not messy. The whole inside of the castle was not messy – only the outside of the castle was messy. He dressed me in prettier clothes and he put a crown on my head. And he made pretty clothes for our whole family and he sended them to our whole family right after he put the crown on my head. And he gave us more money right after he gave us more clothes. And he said, just before I went, “You can come here whenever you want and sometime please bring your sister.” And Jesus lived happily ever after and my family lived happily ever after.

ahhhhhh!!!!!
i love this story.
i just love it.
blessings on you sweet eden,
you are the princess of heaven!

Wow. Please ask Eden if I can come also. I am so impressed that she felt the freedom to share such a sacred thing. I don’t know about your frequency in “the Word” but it seems your doing something very right.
This and your last post…well, they freakin’ rock. I so wish you could have met my wife Amber at Mayhem…sonofa!! Anyway, she’s been really getting into the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as a means of introducing our kids to the kingdom. You might want to check it out - http://www.cgsusa.org/. Also, I know Heidi Quiring has a ton of experience with the Catechesis.
Very cool stuff…
Out of the mouths of babes…. It’s amazing what insights kids have!
