Loving Life

The absolutely best way to improve bill-paying is to listen to This American Life on-line whilst you click and sign your way through your paycheck. If I ever meet Ira Glass in person, I will kiss him on the lips in utter gratitude for making me feeling like a smart-person-who-can-laugh. My favorite episode recently has been The Allure of the Mean Friend, in which we explore why mean kids are so…well..alluring. I especially loved Act Three when someone delivers a sidesplitting (in that “it’s so true, it’s sad” sort of way) monologue about backward compliments. Fifteen Minutes

I told myself I’d stop with the computer by 10pm…so I have fifteen minutes. Go!

1) I totally f’ed up my email 30 seconds ago and I feel like such a dork. Why can’t I figure out how to configure the damn tool bar????

2)While I was reading A Little Princess to Eden tonight I heard very fake cawing out my window. It was Josh and T home from a long weekend. Tonya came upstairs with a towel from the downstairs bathroom wrapped under her arms so she could show Paul and I her new tattoo. Some Other Stuff About Voting

I think it’s tremendously important to vote. Most Xers and Nexters don’t vote — probably because they think it’s pointless; or they are suspicious of anything systematic; or they are just not into caring about people who don’t speak their language; or a zillion other reasons. But like it or lump it, we live in a democracy and in order for that system to work, everyone has to vote.
