Oh Holy Night

I am so, SO content with my Advent and Christmas this year. I feel like we’ve been able to do so many lovely things to celebrate the season. We paid attention to Jesus’s birth by throwing our Advent house party and doing meditations around the Advent wreath with ThPM. We served (a little) at a homeless shelter that our friend is connected to. We made little gifts for our friends. We found a really thoughtful gift for Eden’s hard working teacher. We spent a lot of time with our family.
Today we had our annual “Downtown Day” with the girls. We took the metro bus — which the girl’s think is as fun as a roller coaster. Then we road the carosuel and saw the gingerbread house collection. We stood in front of Pacific Place and listened to a woman play a haunting song on her violin. (E. liked her dreadlocks. She’s really into dreadlocks. And lip rings. Did I mention she is 5?)After lunch (cheese pizza) we rode the monorail. I’ve lived here for 15 years and have never ridden the monorail. At the Seattle Center (the only place the monorail goes) we saw the model train exhibit. Then it was home for a nap before candlelight services. Tommorow we will open gifts with the kids and our housemate, Sharon. We’ll make cinnamon rolls and play with the new toys (one for each girl from us — way too many for each girl from all the other realitives :-) . Then it will be naps again and 4pm mass at St. James Cathedral.
Did I mention…Lovely! Isn’t baby Jesus so great! All this loveliness rolling out of his cry!
May your Christmas be lovely too.
